Our engagement

KÖSS makes sure to work closely with Global Recycle Standard certified partners. This international standard is voluntary and payable. It establishes criteria for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical composition restrictions.

In order to obtain the standard, controls are carried out once a year by independent organisations. French products are certified by international organizations, such as Control Union, ICEA or NSF international. To maintain the certification, a certain number of constraints must be respected:

  • Social : employee rights, minimum hiring age, worker health and safety, training, trade union freedoms, prohibition of discrimination or harassment, etc.
  • Environmental : wastewater control system, good waste management, responsible energy consumption, limitation of chemicals, etc.

The label thus ensures that the recycled content is present from start to finish, that is to say, from the start of production until the product reaches the hands of the consumer. For the end buyer, this is a real guarantee.

The objective of the GRS is to encourage the use of recycled materials as well as to minimize the environmental and chemical impacts during the production of garments and the use of products.

SOCIAL MEASURES

The standard also ensures compliance with strict social and environmental practices.

In GRS-certified clothing factories, employees work in a healthy, safe environment, without gender discrimination and with decent working hours. Employees work a maximum of 48 hours per week with one day off per week, overtime is done on an ad hoc basis and on a voluntary basis. B
